There were no Robert McDowells listed in the Eastern District of Brooklyn in the Smith's 1855-56 and 1856-57 Directories. The Eastern District included the former City of Williamsburgh and the former Town of Bushwick (including Greenpoint) that were consolidated with Brooklyn effective in 1855.
