Hi all,

Here am I in living near Leeds, in England, and going to the Test Match
between England and Pakistan tomorrow at Headingley-that's a cricket
match, a 5-day game!

I am asking if anyone would be willing to go to the Surrogate Court in
Brooklyn, and obtain a will for me.

The details are: Charles DOUGHTY born 29th November, 1821, Broughton,
Lincolnshire, England. Death date 22nd December 1889, at 125, Van
Sicklen Avenue, New Lots, Kings County.

Probate granted on 15th April, 1890 to Henry M. Smith (son-in-law),

Details below of Notice of Surrogate Hearing:
Publication:Brooklyn Eagle; Date:Mar 7, 1890; Section:None; Page Number:2

Whereas Henry M. Smith of the City of Brooklyn has lately petitioned to
our Surrogate's Court of the County of Kings to have a certain
instrument in writing bearing date the ninth of November, 1889, relating
to the real and personal estate duly proved and admitted to probate as
the last will and testament of Charles Doughty, late of the city of
Brooklyn, deceased.

Wherefore you and each of you are hereby cited and required to appear
before our said Surrogate at the Surrogate's Court, in the Hall of
Records, in the city of Brooklyn, on the fifteenth day of April, 1890 at
ten o' clock in the forenoon, and attend the probate of the said last
will and testament.

In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of the Surrogate's Court of
Kings County to be hereby unto affixed. Witness HON. George E. Abbott,

February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

JUDAH B. VOORHEES, Clerk of the Surrogate's Court.
Benjamin B. Ripton, Attorney for the Petitioner, 44, Court street, Brooklyn.

I know that there is a heat wave in New York at the moment, so would not
expect a great deal just yet. We too have had some heat, but know that
heat in the city can be oppressive.

Thanks
