I'm researching McDonald's/McDonald/McDonnell etc
of NYC. In particular a John McDonald.
Per the baptismal records of John's children the last
name had various spellings: Donald, McDonnell, McDonald.

I received a baptismal record for the son of Bernard McDonald
and Dora/Dorthea Henderson, John J McDonald.
(My dad was named after his grandfather, John J McDonald)

Per the 1880 NY, Manhattan census Bernard McDonnell and Dorothea had the following children: John McDonnell, Mary McDonnell, Dora McDonnell, and Charles McDonnell.

I'm not sure, but there was also a Bernard "McDonald" in Brooklyn in later census. I think it is the same family?

I also discovered a grave of a Bernard McDonald that was purchased by a Mathew McDonald in Calvery.

Let me know if you think there is a connection.
