My family lived in this exact area--Montgomery Street - Bedford Ave - Clove Road during this time. They used St. Teresa of Avila for a few weddings, but they also frequented St. Ignatius Church ("Church on the Hill"). There wasn't an elementary school attached to St. Ignatius. Most of them used the catholic school at St. Francis of Assisi on Lincoln Road and Nostrand Ave.

My great grandparents lived on the Old Clove Road going back to 1840. Their children were baptized at St. James Church (now St. James Cathedral Basilica) 1844; St. Patrick's Church (now know as St. Lucy-St. Patrick) 1847; and Holy Cross Church 1862.

Hope this helps.
