My 2 cents worth....I have done lots of research in Connecticut and
Massachusetts for the 1600-1700's. I have to tell you that the records were
wonderful. However, my research was done pre-internet. I went to the FHL's
and looked at everything on microfilm. You can see what records are
available on microfilm through the LDS website. Then visit a Center, pay
$3.75, or what ever it is now, to 'rent' the film. I would think that the
origins of New Haven would be on a film and your family data would be there.
I'd contact the New Haven Genealogical Society and see if maybe there was a
book published with the early settlers named. Anna in SPokane
