Those with Cooks in southern Madison County might want to look for
connections with the family of that name that settled in the Norwich
area of Chenango County by about 1800. They were descendants of
immigrant ancestor Walter COOK. Rhoda COOK was my 2nd great
grandmother and married Hiram HOLMES of the town of Hamilton in
Madison County.

I regret, though, that I know of no connections to any of the Cooks
mentioned here lately. I don't have much information on the Norwich
Cooks other than my direct line.
