Subject: Ambrose Ward+Erutha Dodge /Peery/Higginbothan connections
Date: Wed, 16 Jun 1999 19:01:34 EDT

Hello fellow listers,

I am trying to find the parents of Erutha DODGE, b.Sep.1,1780,
somewhere in CT., d.Nov.2,1856, (last located in the 1850 census of
Gilbertsville, Otsego Co., N.Y.) who was married on Nov.2,1800,
somewhere in CT., to Ambrose WARD, Jr., b.Oct.8,1775 in Killingworth,
Middlesex Co., CT., d.Jan.9,1854, (last located in the 1850 census of
Butternutts, Otsego Co., N.Y.)

The way that the WARD family connects exactly to the PEERY
family is found in the IGI record as it includes an Erutha DODGE,
b.Sep.1,1780 in Gilbertsville, Otsego Co., N.Y. It lists no parents but
does list under Relatives, a Joseph S. PEERY.

Tracking down a Joseph S. PEERY, (KindredKonnections.com)
leads one to a Joseph Stras PEERY, second son of David Harold PEERY,
and Elizabeth Letitia HIGGINBOTHAM. David and Elizabeth also had
other children: David Henry PEERY, Nancy May PEERY, Horce Eldredge
PEERY, Eleanor Virginia PEERY, John Harold PEERY, Margaret Louisa
PEERY, Simon Francis PEERY, Lewis Hyrum Ward PEERY, and Harman
Ward PEERY.

Is this lineage familiar to anyone on the list?

If one tracks the lineage of Elizabeth Letitia HIGGINBOTHAM, one
finds a father of William Elliott HIGGINBOTHAM and a mother of Louisa
WARD.

(THIS MUST BE THE WARD FAMILY MENTIONED IN THE IGI RECORDS)

William and Louisa also had other children: Nancy Cambel
HIGGINBOTHAM, Simon Shelby HIGGINBOTHAM, Lydia Louise
HIGGINBOTHAM, Francis Davis HIGGINBOTHAM, Jerome
HIGGINBOTHAM and a Boy Child HIGGINBOTHAM.

Next, if one tracks the Louisa WARD lineage to a William WARD
and wife, Nancy THOMPSON. This is the first point at which we find any
possible birth, death, or marriage dates listed. Still at
KindredKonnection.com, one finds a William T. WARD,
b.Aug.6,1775 in VA., and Nancy THOMPSON, b.Apr.4,1773, with no
marriage date.
ANY opinions appreciated!!!
Does anyone out there relate to ANY of this lineage???

What a tangled web we weave when we try to sort out ancestors!!!
