Hi Chris and Listers,

I believe that would be the cemetery on River Street, which runs north off
Lake Avenue (a 'Y' in the road, so it runs roughly parallel to Lake) ,
crosses Stutson Street/Pattenwood Drive and ends just before the old railroad
swing bridge, almost to Lake Ontario and Charlotte. The cemetery is just
north of the 'Y' in the road.

As a youngster, I lived on what was then called Bridge Street (now Pattenwood
Drive) and used to walk with my father across the Genesee River and up River
Street. One time we walked up the street and there was a gold coffin resting
on the side of the road, just outside the cemetery. Apparently, there was
going to be some kind of graveside service and it hadn't gotten under way
yet. Of course, my eyes widened at the sight and I still remember it vividly.
I believe that was probably one of the last burials in the cemetery, which
was about 1940.
I believe that Sam Patch, the daredevil who jumped the Genesee River falls is
buried there, after he didn't surface following one of his jumps (his last!).
