AMDUR, MARVIN L. DR.,
May 14, 1913-January 18, 2000 Dr. Marvin L. Amdur, 86, of Buffalo, New
York, died January 18, 2000 in San Diego where he recently resided with
his
daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Charles Hayman. He was a retired
physician who specialized in occupational health. He was a Fellow of both
the American Academy of Occupational Medicine and the American Public
Health Association.
Other survivors include his wife, Myra, of Activcare at La Mesa; son Dr.
Mark Amdur of Chicago; sisters, Genevieve Cohen of Rochester, New York
and
Adele Brock of Buffalo; six grandchildren including Amy and Alissa Hayman
of San Diego; and two great grandchildren.
Services held in Buffalo. Contributions Temple Beth El of Greater
Buffalo,

SIMONDS, GRACE M. --
Grace, passed away peacefully on December 28, 1999 at Villa Pomerado
Hospital, in Poway, CA. She was born in 1915 in Rochester, N.Y. and in
1939
married Robert H. Bechtold, was a homemaker and mother to three children.

Mr. Bechtold predeceased her in 1973. She married C. Weston Simonds and
they retired to Rancho Bernardo, CA. In Rancho Bernardo, she was a member
of First United Methodist Church of Escondido, and a volunteer for the
Lady
Lions Club of Rancho Bernardo. Grace enjoyed sewing, contract bridge,
gardening, cooking and entertaining her many friends.


Mrs. Simonds is survived by three children, William R. Bechtold of Palo
Alto, CA, Dr. Robert H. Bechtold of Conway, NH and Dr. Margaret Freeman
of
Reading, PA; a sister, Mrs. Helen Downer, Auborn, NY; two stepchildren,
Clark W. Simonds of Rancho Bernardo, CA, and Ann Kathryn Parker of Lake
Orion, MI; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two nephews and a
niece. She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband, "Wes" Simonds, a
brother, Dr. William R. Hoffman, and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Peck.


A Memorial Service and interment will be held in the spring at Mount Hope
Cemetery in Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Palomar-Pomerado Health Foundation for Villa Pomerado Hospital in care of
Villa Pomerado Hospital, 15615 Pomerado Road, Poway, Calif. 92024.

VANDERVORT -- Gail, 63, of Rancho Bernardo, passed away October 16, 1999
in
La Jolla. She is survived by her husband DeVere L. Vandervort, 2
daughters
Marjori Todd of Oakland, CA and Lisa Lantz of Rochester, NY, son Neal
Schmugler of Rochester, 4 grandchildren, 1 step-daughter Susan Ladner of
Torrance, CA. There will be a Memorial Service Thursday October 21st 10
a.m. at Temple Ner Tamid , 16770 West Bernardo Dr. in Rancho Bernardo.

BENEDICT, Evelyn K., a resident of Pacific Beach died September 9, 1999
at
the Drake Royale Residential Care facility. Born 1910 Geneva, New York.
She
was predeceased by her husband Harold and son Gary. Survivors include her
son Alan of Hoodsport, WA and brother Raymond of San Rafael, 3
grandchildren David, Adrian and Ray of San Diego. Evelyn was a retired
Registered Nurse who received her diploma in nursing from the Strong
Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Services were held Sept. 13th at
Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church . Memorials may be sent to the above
Church in her memory.

PAPPERT -- Richard A., 69, died July 18, 1999 surrounded by his family.,
He
was born in Rochester, NY December 30, 1929 and moved to San Diego in
1958
after earning a Ph.D. degree in Physics from Cornell University. He
worked
26 years for the Navy as a Theoretical Physicist in Point Loma until his
retirement in 1991 when travel and tennis with friends became his
passion.
He was a loving husband to Anna Marie for 43 years. A supportive and
devoted father of 6 children: Rosemarie (Bruce) Lambert, Stephen
(Juanita)
Pappert, Theresa (Troy) Kloefkorn, David (Belia) Pappert, Edward Pappert,
and Diane (Thomas) Squillaro. He had 7 grandchildren whom he adored:
Shane,
Sabrina, Tina, Joseph, Ariel, Julianne and Lauren. Also survived by his
loving cousin Earl and best friend, Art Fischer. A memorial service will
be
held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Point Loma Saturday, July
24, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to
Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, 8800 Venice Bl., Suite 207, Los
Angeles, CA 90034.

DULMAGE -- Betty, 82, of Poway & Scripps Ranch in San Diego died May 24,
1999 while visiting her daughter in No. Carolina. The wife of the late
Bill
Dulmage, survived by son John Dulmage of Londonderry, NH, daughters
Leslie
Pratt of Raleigh, NC & Carol Dulmage of San Diego, 5 grandchildren. Betty
was a reg. pediatric nurse. She began her career at Children's Hospital
in
Winnipeg, Manitoba. She worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota
and at children's hospitals and homes in Rochester, New York. She was an
active member of the Poway Senior Center and Poway Women's Club. Her good
will and joy of life will continue to be an inspiration for her family &
friends. A Celebration in her memory will be July 6, 1999 at her home in
Scripps Ranch 3-6 pm. Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 919-467-8108.
