Hi Barb,
WWI Draft registrations were held as follows:
June 5, 1917. All men between the ages of 21 and 31 were required to
register.
June 5, 1918. All men who turned 21 since June 5, 1917. A supplemental
registration was held on August 24, 1918 at which time were men who had
become 21 since June 5, 1918.
September 12, 1918. All men between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45.
This was the final registration
Confusing isn't it.
I've sent for and received copies of "World War I Draft Registration Cards"
from the National Archives and Records Administrtion. It takes about a
month. You'll need to get some forms from them first. You can order them
via e-mail at http://www.nara.gov. Go to 'Research Room', then to 'How to
Order Forms'. E-mail a request for "World War I Draft Registration Card
Request" forms. They will mail the forms to you. Fill out the form and mail
it to the address they list. The cost is $10.00.
Hope this helps.

I heard that men born between certain years 187?-1900 (?) had to register
for draft cards for World War One. Does anyone know how to research this
for Monroe County residents?

Could someone do a lookup for me? I would like an obit for my 2 great
grandfather Augustus C. BRADY b. 1818 d. Oct. 4, 1891.
He must have come back to Rochester (he married in Dansville, NY) because he
is listed in the 1880 census in Rochester, but living with two boarders.
Thanks for any help.

I add my thanks, for the 1890 Directory!! I found two sets families whom I
did not know
names of certain members... Now need more info on Everard Peck
descendants and Isaac Curtis descendants to make connections.

Hi everyone,
Could someone please do a lookup for me if they have access to Rochester city
directories? I am looking for my g grandfather in Rochester in the years
1893 , 1894 and 1895. Any one of the years would be helpful. I would like to
know where he lived and what his occupation was. His name was Lewis J Tatu.
I would really appreciate this. Thanks.
Carol
