Would a kind soul please look for an obituary for Rachel Mandeville Weeks
who died in Webster, Monroe Co, NY in February, 1872? I am sorry I don't
have a specific death date. Rachel Mandeville married Benjamin Batey Weeks
abt 1830 in Monroe Co, NY, raised five children in Webster, NY and died
there in 1872. Their children were Loren Race Weeks b 1837, Harriet Elizabeth
Weeks b 841, Mary Jane Weeks b 1839, Marion Ruth Weeks b 1842 and Orlo
J. Weeks b 1844.

Harriet Elizabeth Weeks married Ira Woodford Martin (b VT)and they had
five children including Harriet Martin, Paula J. Martin, Cora Belle Martin
b 1869, Rachel Weeks Martin b 1877, and Ira Woodford Martin Jr. b 1877--all
born Webster.

Cora Belle Martin married Charles Anson Ferguson in 1888 in Webster/Rochester
and they are my great grandparents.

I pray that an obit will help me break through the veil that separates
me from Rachel Mandeville Weeks and Benjamin Batey Weeks' birth families.
I wonder if that long ago obits were even done for women. Somehow I believe
that in Monroe Co, NY it might be possible.
