James Oliver Groves was born July 30, 1862 in West Garafraxa Township, Ontario, Canada. He died April 30, 1926 near Port Hope, Ontario while travelling between Rochester, New York to Fergus, Ontario (centre of the Groves family).
He moved to Rochester around the turn of the 20th century and was a surgeon there. His obit in Fergus states that there was a widow. Nothing more is known.
I have quite an extensive genealogy of the Groves family. I have been researching Dr. Abraham Groves, his brother, for the centennial of Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Ontario. He was the first Doctor to perform an appendectemy and many other surgical 'first'.
I would appreciate any information Rochester or Monroe County which might relate to James Oliver.
