Hi everyone! My husband and I have been searching the new Rochester Marriage
Records site and are so pleased with it! We actually found the name of his
Grandfather...something that no family member would ever mention or discuss!
One huge brick wall came tumbling down for us! This list is the result of
a lot of hard work on the part of John Noble, his staff and, I believe,
volunteers at the City Archives. (Be charitable in your thinking if you run
in to misspellings...remember how terrible the old handwriting can be...or
perhaps, your ancestor meant to mislead...ours did: she misspelled her last
name and used her middle name, not her first. The groom changed the first
letter of his last name. And yes, we know we have the right couple! My only
thought is that they did NOT want to be found! ) Thank these hardworking
folks...and let the Mayor and other Rochester officials know how grateful we
are. Maybe in the future they will put more records online! So many places
consider family history researchers as a pain in the neck...it is nice that
Rochester is willing to help us search and save the old records (from all of
us handling them) at the same time! This should be great PR for Rochester
so let's give them praise. Kudos to Rochester!

PS Anyone researching GYSEL?
