Subject: [NYMONROE-L] Henrietta schools and mental institutions

My great-grandmother, Mary Louise Keech, spent time in 1852 and 1853 in West
Henrietta, Monroe County, New York. I have several poems written there,
that are dated during that time. She had just graduated from the Oneida
Seminary at Cazenovia, Oneida County, New York in 1851. I am wondering what
she was doing so far from home. She then was at Genesee Wesleyan Seminary
at Lima in 1853. Her later career had her working in mental institutions,
and so I am wondering whether there is any connection with what she was
doing in Henrietta and Lima, perhaps teaching or taking further training?
Are there any school records that go back that far, or city directories?
Can anyone can put me in touch with a historian who might have some answers?
I am trying to put together the story of her life, and this period is a
mystery to me.

Thank you. Sandy
