To correct things a bit, this is what I have on the John Lennon I'm looking for:

He was born in New York. Married Elizabeth Wendover who we believe was born in Canada but a source says she may have been born in NY too.
They had several children: Margret (my grandmother), Charles, Jane, John, Marie, Maud(e), and Pearl.
I do know Margret may have been born in Michigan. I also know somehow some of these people ended up in the Northwest possibly Washington State.

Maybe that's enough for someone better than I at this research : )
