Is anyone researching the BREESE name in Monroe Co.? (Also spelled BREES or BREEZE) I have a Sidney A. BREESE, wife Catharine S., and 6 or 7 children living in Gates in 1860, then on Ravine Ave in Rochester. Names related by marriage would be BANKS, KELLY, NEWSOME, NELSON and possibly SEARS.

Sidney was born in NY state (his father b in NJ), Catharine was born in Baden/Germany. One son has Civil War records, two daughters ended up in CA, one son appears to have moved to Buffalo. There are no Breeses in the on-line marriage records in Rochester.

I have tried to link Sidney A. to the Horseheads, Chemung Co., NY, Breeses, but can't do it definitely. There is another line of Breeses with a prominent Sidney A., but they are in Illinois.

Anyone else looking for the BREESE family?
