Subject: Caleb Wilder, Rochester, 1818-1852

I am seeking information on the military career of Captain Caleb
Wilder. He was a company commander during the Mexican War. He has been
attached to both the 9th and 10th US Army infantry regiments by different
sources. He has also been described as a merchant in Rochester. I am
assuming that Capt. Wilder raised his own company of infantry around
Rochester, as my GGG-uncle from Irondequoit received a land bounty for
serving in Capt Wilder's company.
Thanks in advance.
