Hi All,

I live 20 miles from the nearest Family History Center. They are only
open a couple of days a week. I don't like to drive at night after work
if it is dark. So my time there is limited.

I was getting some of the films from the NARA but that was also
difficult since we only have two film readers at my local library which
is 4 miles away.

Belonging to the Rochester Genealogical Society and the NYMONROE list
has helped a whole lot but Ancestry.com has saved me a lot of money in
motel bills and plane tickets. A lot of my ancestors are in the NYC area
and I'm definitely not going there, it would be too expensive.

I have an envelope that I put my genealogy money in and when it came
time to renew this year I had enough to send Ancestry.com a money order
as well as renew my subscription to Family Tree Magazine.

Researching in Rochester for the KLEM, OSTER, CONSLER, NICKEL, BUCHER
families and ANNA CONSLER in Denver, Colorado. She was a manicurist and
went there before Barney Consler went out there for his TB Cure and when
he died and Ida Nickel Consler returned to Rochester with her kids Anna
apparently stayed in Denver. I've lost her trail.
