Among the country's youngest grandfathers in the armed services is 37-year-old Alfred C. Young, 646 University, a Navy man for the last 15 months.
Young and his wife, Helen, are the parents of Walter Young, 16, and Mrs. Jean Young Metcalf -- and the grandparents of 14-month-old Frances Jean Metcalf. A painter and decorator before he went into service, Young is stationed in Williamsburg, Va. He is the son of Charles F. Young, 10 Breck.
