Mike, I wish I could help you, I knew a Babcock 14 years ago, so she is likely deceased now. She lived in Batavia NY, Genesee County NYS. She had old tin types etc of family members she wanted to pass on but had no one I had suggested she give them to a historical group in the area. Genesee county has a very poor rootsweb web site, but if you write to the town historian you may get some answers. Batavia does have a wonderful 'History Department', full of old city directories and a wonderful indexes for volumes of notebooks filled with all kinds of newsclippings.
