In 1855 census forMonroe- Wheatland I found a JOHN BELLEW age 28 born Ireland in Wheatland one year
ROSE BELLEW, 60, mother Ireland
RICHARD BELLEW, 40 brother Ireland

now in 1860 I found my g-ggreatgrandfather, James belyea and his family
in the 1860 census N.Y. Monroe County, Wheatland, Page386 #dwelling 184-181

Also at a address near them I found
#dwelling 184-181, Rose Belyea, white, age 70 (in 1855 census she was 60 )
John Belyea white age 28 farm laborer( he is the same age in 1855)
Richard Belyea white age 51 he was age 40

The name Bellew is the correct spelling...sounds like bell-you
i have found it spelled Bellen-Belyea
Belleau, Belew,Bellieu, etc-etc
I am beginning to wonder if Rose could be the mother of my gggreat grandfather James Bellew. I need help as how to find that info. All I know is they lived in the Caledonia/ Mumford, Livingston, NY area.
thanks, Doris..Texas
