Message Board Post:
I am looking for relatives of Michael (parents Joseph and Mary Wisotzke) and Gottliebe (Abramonski) Wisotzke who immigrated to Rochester, New York in the 1880's.
They had six sons and one daughter:
Gottfried (changed name to Fred Witz) married to Augusta Weisman.
Children: Alma, Helen, Martha, Alice, Paul, Robert and George
William married to Wilhelminia (Minnie) Wecenske.
Children: Hattie, Fred John and Emma
Fredrick (twin to William) married to Henrietta Dudde.
Children: Fredrick, Emma, Elizabeth, William, Anna, Bertha, Herman and Margaret
Karl married to Bertha ?.
Children: Otto, Amelia, Fredrick, Bertha, Alfred (changed last name to Writz), Bennie and Julius
August married to Sophie Jenkels.
Children: William, Otto, Henry, Herman, and Walter; also Fredrick, Charles and Edward with name changed to Writz
Adolph married to Caroline Schank.
Children: Otto, Edith, Elmer, Ruth and Ester
Louisa married to Heinrich (Henry) Frankenstein.
Children: George
My grandmother was Bertha Henrietta Wisotzke Killip daughter of Fredrick and Henrietta.
On Fredrick's Prussian military record the name was spelled: Friedrick Wysotzki. Have also seen it spelled with an "i" at the end.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone from the Wisotzke family so we can share information.
