Dear George,

This is a shot in the dark, but I will try it. I have been lost on finding
where my 3grgrandfather is buried in Rochester, and reading that the Bohrers
and Ulriches where from Pfalz, I thought maybe there could be a connection
between them and my Joseph Pfeiffenberger (changed his name to Pifer in the
U.S.). He came from Hauenstein, Pfalz and I have records of him living on
Champlain St. in Rochester with his family. His whole family is buried in
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, but, he is not there. He died in September 1861.
Is this before the land for Holy Sepulchre was bought by the Catholic
Church? If so, I was wondering if he attended church at St. Joseph's, which
I have read was mostly attended by German immigrants during that time.
Would there be a cemetery that was near the church? If anyone is doing a
look up for St. Joseph's Church, would it be possible to look up Joseph
Pifer? Where was the original St. Joseph's Church located? I know the
present day one is in Penfield.

Were there any other predominantly German Catholic Churches in the area at
that time? I know that Joseph's children attended St. Peter and Paul. If
anybody has any connections or ideas, thanks.
