I really need someone's help! I found the name of G.L. HOUGH, a.25, School Teacher, and wife, N.D. HOUGH, a.22 (both born in NY), in the 2nd District, Warren County, KY Federal Census. This couple was living with the family of JOHN R. & TABITHA BECK & the Beck's 6 children. At the top right-hand corner of the Census page is the hand-written number 219, and a stamped number 110 right below it. The household is the 9th on the page, Number 622.
Does anyone know the full first names of this couple, where the man taught school in KY, why they left NY to teach in KY, and how long they stayed in KY? I could not find them in the 1860 Census and beyond (nor before 1850 either). It's as if this couple just dropped down from the sky in 1850. What was N.D's birth name? Who were the parents of each of these folks?
Also, the surname of this couple could have been spelled HUFF elsewhere in a Census or other type of data.
Any information about this couple would be gratefully received & I may have information you need about KY or NY you may need.
Many Thanks!!
