MC - US Census 1860 had a Daniel Benjamin as a 27 yr old Univ Student but not sure he's your man - US Census 1870 for Fredonia shows Daniel K Benjamen age 36, a jeweler, & his wife Jennie age 32 w/ children: Harry L (4) & Augustus J (8) & also liv w/ them was James H Benjamin (29) a cigar maker - - 1880 US Census (LDS web site) shows DK now 46 (born in 1834), Jennie A now 41, & Kids: Harry L 14(a clerk)(perhaps in his dad's store?); Augustus 13; Charley 8; William 6.everyone all born in NY - -also living at same house is Mary Crane age 36, a teacher - hope this helps - as for DK's business in Rochester go on line to Monroe County Library -they have a slew of Roch City Directories on their site - good luck & keep up your search -Resp GJM
