The 1855 census index in the division reads (among other things):
that they were living with a family headed by Philip KEIFF in Wheatland; that the HUGHS (as it was given in the census) family members were:
John HUGHS, aged 25, born Ireland, married, 8 years resident in Wheatland; naturalized; working as a blacksmith.
Harriet HUGHS, 20, wife, born in England, 12 years resident in Wheatland,
Emma Jane HUGHS, aged 1, born in Monroe County.
The Ancestry 1850 census shows:

View Record John Hughes Mendon, Monroe, NY abt 1828 Ireland; Mendon is only 5 miles east of Wheatland.

Harriet Ford:
View Record Harriet Ford Wheatland, Monroe, NY abt 1835 England;

in the 1850 census of Wheatland she is listed as

Jane, age 35, England;
