Dear Linda,

THANK YOU so much for your help!! Actually, I am not sure if it is the
village or town of Hempstead. I was on Long Island a couple of years ago
and remember seeing an old Methodist church downtown then, close to St.
George. At the time I was not interested, but now feel the records for which
I am searching may be found in that church (or another nearby Methodist
church). My family also lived in the area of Roosevelt and Merrick (and
Greenpoint?) during the 1800's. I'll start by writing the one on Washington
in Hempstead. Thank you again for your assistance!!
