Subject: [NYNASSAU] Date of Death unknown

I have a problem, perhaps some one can help. My GG grandfather, Samuel
SHORT was born in England (1830 based on 1860 census info) his first
wife Louisia (1860 census) looks like she died about 1865 - 1866. He is
remarried with two new daughters in the 1880 Census, living at 16 Varet
St., Brooklyn, next door to his grown married son, but looks like he
either lied about his date of birth or person who gave the info gave
incorrect year of birth. It appears he died some time in the 1890s.
Census for 1890 unavailable. Family maintained contact with his widow
until after 1900 when, when she remarried.
I believe (but do not know for sure) he may be burried in Cyprus Hills.
How do I begin to run him down? ALSO how do I go about geting infor
mation on his FIRST WIFE Louisia, who was my GG grandmother? They had 3
children born Brooklyn, in the 1850s. Would there be records (birth
certificates) for these children .... one of which was my G grandmother,
I know the year of her birth but not the day and month.
Are there any directories of deaths for Brooklyn by years?
Dave (in PA)
