All the communities that you cite were in the Town of Hempstead.

I don't think there was ever a village (municipal corporation) named Bridgeport. There might have been a hamlet (unincorporated area) or a U.S. Post Office with that name at that time period. May be David Roberts can comment on if there ever was a U.S. Post Office with the name "Bridgeport" in the Town of Hempstead.
