This has been a while but the Light just came on. Thank you for your help. The Rebecca Jane who married John is listed on the 1870 Census of Hempstead, LI, NY with 2 Childre Andrew and Joanna. The Mary Jane, Hanna and Emma, are all daughters of John's Brother Daniel who is shown with his wife Susanna (Fleming) on the 1870 Hempstead census.
On the 1880 Daniel is hown with wife Rebecca J (same ag as the Rebecca who married John) and all the children listed in the two families on the 1870 cencus. Also of interest is the fact that This John's Father (also John) married a Jane Place whose neice Emily married a Stringham.
There is documentation that Daniel and Rebecca J both bought plots in Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead on the same day. Plots 9 & 10 Section 11. There are 11 named and 7 unnamed burials in those plots. I an working on getting them identified.
Hope this fits with what you might have.
George
