My Dad, Robert Richard Rountree, talked with Julie's (and another daughter) Father who lived in Garden City, LI, during the early-mid 50's, I think. The two men discovered that they were something like 13th cousins, but how I'll never know.

I'm having trouble getting past my Great-Grandfather, William L Roun(d)tree, who was in the Civil War from James County, the same time my Grandfather, William Lewis Rountree, Henrico County, VA, was also in the Civil War. If you know anything about the Roun(d)tree line earlier than I have been able to get, please let me know.

William Lewis Rountree of Henrico, moved to New York following the Civil war but returned to Richmond "to die". He married two Catherines, the last one my paternal Grandmother spelled with a Katherine in the census of 1900, was Katherine Blaney Rountree.

Caroline E. Rountree
daughter of (Elaine) Mildred Strang Rountree (b-1900 d-1988) and Robert Richard Rountree Sr. (b- 1901, d-1981)both born in Brooklyn.
