calvin H. Mott was appointed united state life saving
station Keeper in 1856 and Daniel Mott was appointed
keeper on July 2 1869at age 56 with experience as a
wrecker and surfman.\\ In 1882 the station was
referred to as Rockaway Beach. Mott and Mott both of
the Rockaway station.
