Jane Ryerson was born Dec. 10, 1827. Henry Smith was born June 26, 1813. They were married Mar.12,1843. I have no further info on Henry.
Jane was the dau. of John Cornelius Ryerson, born May 10, 1793,and died Oct. 29, 1829, and Rosana Travers, dau. of Jacob Travers of Brooklyn. They married Sept. 15, 1814. Rosanna was born Oct 23, 1798 and died Sept. 28, 1854.
John was a farmer in or near what is now Wantagh, L.I.
John was the son of Cornelius Ryerson and Catherine Van Cott.
Cornelius Ryerson was the son of George and Sarah Ryerson
and was born or baptized Feb. 23, 1752. He died about 1826 at Merrick, L.I. He married Catherine Van Cott, Aug. 13, 1791 in Hempstead, L.I. He was a loyalist during the Revolutionary War and went to Nova Scotia but returned to Long Island after the end of the war.
I can go back three more generations but will have to do it in a later posting.
Ken Oakley
