On 3/10/04 (10:46:07 PM MST), Virginia Carr Martinez () asked,
"I am looking for information on Wrights and Hands that lived in Long ISLAND NY , Northampton and Easthampton. They came from Lynn and Plymouth MA to Long Island. Some of them left to go to Cape May NY. From there some went to Indiana. Were Shipbuilders and Whalers. One of the Hands, Joseph left MA for CONnetticut and married a Wright there. 1650 ca."
You may want to re-post to the Suffolk County Board (that's the county to the immediate east of Nassau County) because Northampton is a hamlet (unincorporated area) in the Town of Southampton and East Hampton is a village (municipal corporation) in the Town of East Hampton, both located in the southeast part of Suffolk County.
I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting.

Walter Greenspan
