Nassau County records essentially same as in other NY counties.

Death records may be with the clerk of the Town of Hempstead, or with the village clerk of the Village of Hempstead. Exact records location depends on just where the person died. If the death was in a village, the village clerk may keep death records; if the village doesn't keep the records, then the town does.

You can check the county and town websites.
