i would suggest you look in the NYC Birth Index and se if indeed he had a
birth certificate.
Your local Family History Library at LDS center and NYState Archives as the
NY Public Library wmight have the index. I know the FHL in Plainview, L.I.
does.
If all else fails u could pay the $10.oo fee and send to the Municipal
archives for a certificate.
