These addresses would be and are in Manhattan (New York P.O.).

Looking at the "eastside, westside" split ...

Here, a formula is not needed to locate an address on a crosstown street. In
midtown (the area between 14th Street and 59th Street) the street numbers
begin east and west of Fifth Avenue. Street addresses west of Fifth Avenue
are spaced 100 numbers apart between avenues; addresses east of Fifth Avenue
are divided by 50 numbers between avenues, until Third Avenue when 100
numbers separate each block.

Street addresses with odd numbers are always located on the north side of the
street; even numbers are on the south side.

1- 49 between 5th & Madison Avenues
