Hi New York
I am British and now living in sunny Spain.
I have a ggggrandmother CATHERINE LOUISA LIVINGSTON who, according to
the British census of 1861 was then aged 55 and born in New York. This
would make her birth year 1807 or 1808.
She married a William Ward in London on 25 June 1832. Winesses at the
wedding were ELIZA LIVINGSTON. H.B LIVINGSTON, J.LIVINGSTON, and
J.H.LIVINGSTON, all I assume family of hers.
Does anyone have this family on their tree?
Being unfamiliar with U.S. genealogical records and how to get them I am
stuck on how to get her ancestry. I understand that the U.S. censuses
for 1810 1820 and 1830 give heads of households only , so they do not
help. Can some kind person help me how to find baptism records for
churches in New York (City I presume not County) for 1807 1808 or 1809.
Any other suggestions would be very welcome - I have tried without
success the LDS IGI although I did find another Catherine Louisa but she
married the wrong man 10 days before mine!
