Floreda,

On the search page for the NY Times, click on "Search Methods" at the top of
the page and select "Guided Search". You will be able to enter "VARICK" on
the first line and choose NOT and enter St, on the next line choose NOT
Street. That should do it. It is one of the best resources I have paid for.

A couple months ago I subscribed to NYG&BR for the purpose of viewing
the New York Times on line.

To date it has not turned out to be what I expected. I am trying to
find any mention of the VARICK family. When I entered VARICK I got lots
and lots and lots and lots of referrals but they were mostly for VARICK
Street.

Does anyone know how to make the request specific to "Varick Family" or
whatever.
