I'm trying to learn more about a fire that my gg grandfather Thomas A Kenny was injured at. He was seriously burned sometime between 1896 and 1898 at a fire at the "Edison Plant on Duane Street." Supposedly a barrel of gasoline exploded and he was hospitalized and his recovey took nearly a year. FDNY has been unable to assist. I am trying to find a newspaper article or more information. On line searches as well as a mirofilm search of NY Times has failed.
