The Sun, San Bernardino, CA – January 27, 2005

LUCILLE M. KATIN, 89, born October 7, 1915 in New York City, and died January 23, 2005 at Air Force Village, West Riverside, CA. Lucille will always be remembered for her piano music. She studied classical music for 75 years. She graduated from the University of Connecticut. She began her career as a social worker, later taught first grade for many years and was an active civic and community volunteer.

She is survived by her sisters, Stella Goren of Los Angeles and Jane Schad of Yucaipa; her children, (Ret.) Lt. Col. Jon Katin of Albany, Oregon, Joan Reddin of Lake Forest, CA, William Katin of Yucaipa, CA, (Ret.) Capt Robert Katin of Antioch, CA; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 27, 2005, 9:30 am at Riverside National Cemetery and a Memorial at 11 am at Air Force Village West, Riverside, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
