Yes, it was called Little Italy and I believe a part of it may still be
called that. Arthur Avenue is still very Italian. I do not really know the
area but my husbands Italian grandfather and other relatives lived there for
a long time.

I also think it is or was referred to as Spanish Harlem.

Try the New York Municipal Archives for pictures of the houses...in fact,
you may be able to get pictures of the exact houses they lived in.
