That part of town is called "Spanish Harlem" or "East Harlem" these
days, but had a distinctive Italian character as recently as 50 years
ago. (Rao's restaurant is probably the most famous hold-out in the
area <http://www.raos.com/history.html>.)
As for pictures, between 1939 and 1941, New York City went and took
"tax" photographs of every single building in all boroughs. If your
addresses were standing during that time, the city has a picture of
each one at the Municipal Archives. This page:
