Does someone have access to city directories for NYC 1860-69. I am
looking for Charles H. Wilson, a plumber in a 1870 city directory for
New Haven, CT.
I am also looking for birth info of Charles, per burial records he was
born 18 Feb 1843, his death certificate which can be viewed at;
www.computer-firstaid.com/begnal_enterprises/genealogy/wilson/chwdeath.jpg
list his parents as James and Matilda Wilson. I know nothing more about
his parents or where in NY he was born.
I have Charles in the 1870 & 1880 Census, which place his birth in
England, then NY. The 1880 census his father as born in Scotland and
his mother England.
Charles Henry Wilson, married Mary (Coan) Wynkoop/Weinkoop probably
prior to 1867 when their first child was born in NY. I would be
interested in this marriage info as well. Mary Coan married William
Weinkoop, 5 Nov 1853, NY, having 3 children who are listed as Wilson's
in the 1870 census, Margaret, Augustus and Emma F. Wilson.
I have not been able to find a James and Matilda Wilson in the 1860
census for NY, with Charles H. Wilson, age abt. 17 or in 1850, age abt.
6. The closest I have came is 1860 of a James and Eliza, with a son
Charles H. age 12, placing his birth about 1848, living in Avon, NY.
But I doubt this is his family.
I am looking for someone who is willing to look up this information,
plus if there are NY State census of James & Matilda, also possibly if
there is a 1865 state census of Charles & Mary. Charles H., Mary and
family are in New Haven, CT in 1870.
The lineage and all other findings for this family can be viewed at;
www.computer-firstaid.com/begnal_enterprises/genealogy/wilson.html Most
all of these Wilsons except James & Matilda are buried at Fair Haven
Union Cemetery, New Haven, CT.
Thank you very much, Doc
