Please be sure you note the following information.

New York City Death Index
1891 to 1894 Manhattan Only
1895 to 1897 Manhattan and Brooklyn Only
1898 to 1936 All Boroughs

I am hoping that someday they will have all dates for all counties.

Today my good friend and formidable researcher <grin> found the death record
for my great, great grandfather by looking at the films at an FHC page by
page.

Yep, Johan Jacob Frey has been found.
