The answer to your question depends on the individual churches involved.

Each church has its own policies regarding searches, most simply will not do them others will search for a fee. In addition some volunteers at the churches will do searches for a fee.

It is very unlikely that you will receive any answer to a request for marriage information, but requests for Baptismal Certificates are more successful. These certificates have the Birth Date, Baptismal Date, Godparents, and usually Date of Confirmation and Marriage as well as occasionay the Date of Funeral. A donation is usual for this service.

The more specific you can be, the more likely you are to receive the Certificate.

The bottom line is that it probably pays to ask, you may get it or you may not, but there is nothing to lose.
