Charles A. Moore, manufacturer, born in West Spata, NY Sept. 19, 1846, can add another distinction to his list of accomplishments which have already earned him a position in the National Cyclopedia of American Biography. He is now acclaimed to be the great-great grandfather of reigning beauty Queen, Brooke Shields, born May 31, 1965 in NYC.. Charles Moore the son of William Ropes and Caroline M. (Van Ness) Moore. He was educated in Rochester, NY and Lynn, Mass. Following his enlistment in the U.S. Navy for the Civil War where he served from February 1862 until the end of hostilities he returned to West Sparta, farmed for six months, and then returned to Lynn, Mass. where he became highly successful in the manufacturing and selling of machine tools, mill supplies of all kinds, and steam specialties. The corporation known as Manning, Maxwell & Moore, Inc. developed under his leadership into a large industrial organization. He was married September 4, 1879, to Mary, daughter of!
