It is more than likely St. Michael's. My plat maps of that era show St. Michael's to be just west of Ninth Ave on W. 31st Street. The school was on the corner of 31st and Ninth Ave., bearing the address 371 Ninth Ave. There is a building next door to the school at 383 Ninth Ave. which appears to belong to the church and is very likely the rectory.
