In my opinion, statistical probability is a useless diversion when a genealogist is dealing with one family. A speaker standing in front of a few hundred spectators can talk statistics, but it is meaningless with a small group. For example, if I have blue eyes I don't want to be told the statistical probability that my eyes are not blue.

In my opinion, the reason the names of the subjects are not written on the backs of photographs is because everyone knows who they are---and noone thought about future relatives who would not know that information.
