Am trying to find where in Ireland that Martin DOWD
was born.(He came before 1847 and prob.died bet.
1860-1870. His family was in 1850 NYC Census-Ward
19,p.9A-&B; and the 1860 NYC Census-Ward 22-Div.2,p
274.
His widow, Ann P., was still alive in the 1890 NYC
City Directory (www.ancestry.com). From the NYC Death
Index Results, found her possible death as 28 Jul
1893-Manhattan, age 73y. Was not in the 1900 Census.
Would like to find an obituary in the lucky case
that she mentioned place in Ireland or maiden name.
Would appreciate knowing if she is in the 1895 NYC
City Directory as "Ann Dowd, wid.of Martin, at 600 W.
45th St." - Any help or suggestions appreciated.
